Southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Ferndale will be reduced to a single lane starting the night of Sept 2.

The closure will be between the Custer Rest Area and Portal Way from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday morning.

The left lane will be closed for repaving as part of the Washington Department of Transportation’s Nooksack River to Blaine Southbound Paving Project.

Drivers should expect delays in the area during the repaving work.
