WSDOT work will force I-5 lane closures Thursday in Bellingham, Ferndale

Southbound Interstate 5 will be reduced to a single lane in Bellingham and Ferndale Thursday, June 5 for road sign replacement and maintenance, according to a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The closure in Bellingham affects the right lane near the West Bakerview Road exit from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the replacement of an overhead sign.

In Ferndale the closure is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the left lane near West Smith Road for maintenance work on an electrical sign.

Delays should be expected in the area and can be monitored through the real-time travel map or the mobile app.
