Weekslong closure of stretch of Ferndale Terrace begins Monday; Portal Way work also begins

A planned detour around a section of road in Ferndale that is expected to last 4-6 weeks for utility work was set to begin the morning of Monday, March 3, according to a news release from the city of Ferndale.

Ferndale Terrace will be closed to through traffic between Hendrickson Avenue and Legoe Avenue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Residents within the work zone will continue to have access in and out of their homes, and normal traffic flow will be allowed through the area outside of work hours and on weekends, according to the city.

Also this week, traffic will be reduced to a single lane on Portal Way between McKinley Street and Kass Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 3-4 for work on a curb and sidewalk project. Flaggers will direct traffic.
