A collision on I-5 South in Marysville backed up traffic for over 4 miles, slowing travel for Seattle-bound motorists Tuesday morning. The lanes were closed from around 5:30 a.m. to about 9 a.m.

The collision happened near 172nd Street. One lane was opened at 9:08 a.m., with all lanes opening at 9:20 a.m. WSDOT traffic on Twitter has asked motorists to expect the four mile backup to take some time to clear.

The cause of the collision is currently unknown, as is whether any injuries resulted from the crash.
