Update: Southbound I-5 in Bellingham traffic resumes after incident near Sunset Drive
Southbound I-5 traffic was completely blocked at Sunset Drive starting around 1:20 p.m. Friday.
Authorities have yet to announce the exact cause or nature of the incident. Medical Aid, Fire Assistance, the Incident Response Team and Washington State Patrol responded to the scene.
The left lane of I-5 North also was blocked, but northbound was cleared around 2 p.m.
The southbound lane was announced as cleared at 3:10 p.m.
