At least one person was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Guide Meridian Road that blocked all lanes at about 10:52 a.m. Thursday just south of Smith Road.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham with undisclosed injuries. Authorities did not report any other occupants in the car, which came to rest in a ditch.

The incident is being investigated as a possible DUI, Washington State Patrol Officer Kelsey Harding said.

The middle turn lane was opened to ease congestion on Guide Meridian, and full-flow traffic resumed by 11:24 a.m.
