New Sea-Tac concourse restaurants: WA's second Chili's leads buffet

A popular casual dining chain from Texas opened its second location in Washington state at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Thursday.

Chili's, which serves Tex-Mex and Southwestern-inspired bar and grill grub, headlines the buffet of new food vendors at the airport's freshly expanded C concourse, which opened to travelers Thursday. The finished C concourse coincides with the arrival of an estimated 750,000 visitors for the FIFA Men's World Cup.

For Chiliheads in the Seattle area, the Sea-Tac location is not necessarily convenient, but it's a shorter drive than the chain's other Washington state outlet, in downtown Spokane. The new Chili's revives the restaurant's footprint in Western Washington after its Bellevue and Issaquah restaurants closed years ago. (The airport previously had a Chili's in the D concourse until 2018.)

When choosing food and retail vendors in the C concourse, airport leadership considered that "we are the first and last stop (for visitors), so we want to make sure we represent the best of the Northwest," said Khalia Moore, the assistant director of airport dining and retail, in a previous interview with The Seattle Times.

Here's a look at the other food options in the new concourse.

Local chain Great State Burger sources its ingredients from around the region, while Nanny's BBQ incorporates Asian flavors inspired by Seattle's Chinatown International District into its menu, from brisket to chili-lime shrimp and ramen.

Find baked goods, sweets and snacks from Seattle Macaron Co., Bite Society and Bell Street Landing (operated by Hudson).

If you're in a hurry, the new Buffalo Wild Wings Go will allow diners to order in person, online, via an app or at self-service kiosks for faster pick up.

Nevada-based Port of Subs serves sandwiches and other breakfast options.

Olympia Coffee is also landing at Sea-Tac's C concourse, for travelers who need a caffeine pick-me-up, including coffee-inspired cocktails.

And guests can get away from the airport noise and grab cocktails at a new bar called Wanderlust.
