King County food and safety ratings are back online
King County food safety ratings and inspection information are back online after nearly seven months.
A map of restaurants and their emoji-based ratings across King County published by Public Health - Seattle & King County's environmental health services division had not been updated since Nov. 26 because the division was transitioning to a new permitting system. The site is accessible at st.news/foodsafety.
If there were any updates to a business's food safety rating such as an inspection or closure, visitors to the site would not have been able to see the updated information.
Public Health said in a news release Wednesday that the agency needed to build and test a new mapping platform. The department has since brought the map back online with updated information, although it said it is also exploring improvements to make the map more user-friendly.
Residents can find a particular business by name or address, explore businesses by rating with a search filter and find inspection history for a business.
