Temporary roundabout to be installed on East Wenatchee's 9th and Baker
Selland Construction will install a temporary roundabout on July 7 at the intersection of Ninth Street and North Baker Avenue to help maintain traffic as the construction area on Eastmont Avenue expands.
The construction zone on Eastmont Avenue - installing water mains to increase the East Wenatchee Water District's reservoir capacity - will be expanding to between Ninth Street NE and 11th Street NE on July 13, according to a news release from the city of East Wenatchee.
While northbound traffic on Eastmont Avenue will continue through, southbound traffic will be detoured to North Baker Avenue towards the temporary roundabout. Selland Construction, a local developer, is installing the temporary roundabout ahead of construction to allow time for residents to become familiar with the new detours, according to the news release.
Motorists should "use caution, watch for construction signage, and allow extra travel time when driving through the area," according to the news release.
