Here's a look at gas prices going into the Fourth of July weekend
Anyone thinking of traveling for the Fourth of July this Saturday may need to consider when to fuel up in North Central Washington.
The Washington state average of gas is about $5.13 per gallon on Wednesday, about 58 cents cheaper than a month ago, according to AAA. In Wenatchee, the average price for regular gas is $4.66 per gallon, which is about 74 cents cheaper than a month ago.
The gas is slightly cheaper across the river in Douglas County, but gets more expensive traveling farther north into Okanogan County, where gas is $4.91 on average and east into Grant County, where gas is $4.78, according to AAA.
Any westward travelers may encounter average gas prices over $5 in King County and Snohomish County, according to AAA.
It is important to note that state's per-gallon fuel tax increased Wednesday, the first inflationary adjustment enacted by the 2025 state law, the Washington fuel tax. The state's per-gallon fuel tax grew to 56.5 cents, a 2% bump.
