Wednesday: Hummocks + Boundary Trail
Drive 130 miles roundtrip to hike 4 miles with 500 feet of elevation gain.
Beginning at Hummocks Trailhead, hike to the Boundary Trail junction before taking the Boundary Trail out about 0.75 miles, then return to junction and complete Hummocks Trail loop. This is an easy hike.
It can be a more moderate hike by taking the Boundary Trail further, adding additional miles and elevation gain.

July 8: Millersylvania State Park
Drive 100 miles roundtrip to hike 4-plus miles on a perimeter trail with about 300 elevation gain. A Discover pass is required for each vehicle.

July 10: Ape Canyon Trail
Drive 128 miles roundtrip for a strenuous hike to the Ape Canyon trailhead.
Hike 11 miles out and back with 2,200 feet of elevation gain through old-growth forest to the Plains of Abraham. Stunning views of Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams, Mount Hood and Ape Canyon.
View the old-growth forest as it was before the 1980 eruption. This hike is easier than it sounds, with a gradual but steady elevation gain.

July 11: Lake Sacajawea
Walk an easy 4 miles on flat ground around the whole lake or any portion for a shorter walk.
This walk is designed for super seniors and/or people with physical limitations at a slow pace.

July 15: North Head Discovery Trail
Drive 140 miles roundtrip to bike 14.5 miles roundtrip with 400 feet of elevation gain. This is a beautiful, easy ride on a well-maintained path with views of the Pacific Ocean and interesting artwork/history along the way.

July 17: Hardy Ridge Loop
Drive 148 mile roundtrip for a moderate hike of 7.1 mile loop with 1,817 feet of elevation gain on a forested trail with beautiful views at the top. Be aware of some overgrowth and steep sections. A Discover pass is required for each vehicle.

Drive 60 miles roundtrip for an easy bike of 12 miles roundtrip on mostly paved access road. Excellent views of the Columbia River and adjacent wetlands.

July 31: Cape Horn
Drive 126 miles roundtrip for a strenuous hike of 6.7 miles with 1,348 feet of elevation gain along the north shore of the Columbia River. Duck behind a waterfall as the trail winds under a mainly forested canopy and some meadows.
