The following are criminal cases heard recently in Skagit County Superior Court:
ASSAULT
A 31-year-old Sedro-Woolley man was sentenced to three years, seven months in prison Friday after pleading guilty to second-degree assault and two counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
According to court records, in April Colton Eugene White pointed a handgun at a woman.
White is not permitted to possess firearms because of past convictions.
Police seized three guns from his home.
In exchange for his guilty pleas, White had two other charges dropped.
DRUGS
A 45-year-old Mount Vernon man was sentenced to 16 months in prison Monday after pleading guilty to two counts of solicitation to deliver a controlled substance.
According to court records, law enforcement conducted two controlled buys of methamphetamine from Fernando Ortiz-Zavala and another man in 2020 and 2021.
Law enforcement bought multiple pounds of methamphetamine worth about $15,000.
In exchange for his guilty pleas, Ortiz-Zavala had three other charges dropped.
ASSAULT
A 45-year-old Concrete man was sentenced to three months in jail Monday after pleading guilty to third-degree assault and fourth-degree assault.
According to court records, on April 2, 2025, Elijah Jacob Peek assaulted a woman and another man.
