2 Powerball tickets sold in Washington miss jackpot but still win thousands
Two Powerball tickets sold in Washington missed the top prize but still won $50,000 each, lottery officials said.
One ticket matched four winning numbers plus the Powerball in the main drawing on Saturday, Oct. 4, while the other matched four winning numbers plus the Powerball in the Double Play drawing on the same day, according to a lottery official.
The Powerball jackpot was an estimated $194 million, while the top Double Play prize was $10 million, the national Powerball website said.
Where were the winning Washington Powerball tickets sold?
Washington’s two big Oct. 4 winners were sold in Oroville and Puyallup, the lottery official said in an Oct. 6 email to The News Tribune.
The Oroville ticket was sold at Super Duper Foods, 33607 US Highway 97. Oroville is in north central Washington, near the Canadian border.
The Puyallup ticket was sold at Albertsons, 11012 Canyon Road E.
The Puyallup ticket won with the Double Play add-on, which costs $1 and allows players in select areas another chance to win using the same numbers they picked for the main drawing, according to the Powerball website.
The Double Play drawing happens after the main drawing and has a top prize of $10 million.
What were the winning Powerball numbers?
The winning Powerball numbers were 3, 7, 47, 67 and 68, with a Powerball of 2, in the Oct. 4 drawing.
No one won the grand prize, but thousands of tickets won lesser amounts nationwide, from $4 to $100,000, the Powerball site said.
The winning Double Play numbers on Oct. 4 were 5, 16, 40, 44 and 47, with a Powerball of 7.
No tickets hit the $10 million grand prize nationwide, per the Powerball website.
One other ticket nabbed a $50,000 prize, while thousands won between $7 and $500.
When is the next Powerball drawing?
The next Powerball drawing is 10:59 pm ET on Monday, Oct. 6.
The jackpot is an estimated $207 million, with a cash value of $96.9 million, per the Powerball website.
