A man was arrested after police say he threatened three teenage girls with a knife near a popular waterfront area in Seattle.

The 30-year-old man, whose name wasn’t released, was booked into jail on suspicion of malicious harassment in the April 16 incident, the Seattle Police Department said in a news release.

Officers were called to the Alki Beach area at about 6:15 a.m., police said.

A woman said a man shouted and growled at her while she was walking her dog, according to police.

He later went up to three girls, ages 16 and 17, “yelling at them, brandishing a fixed-blade knife, and making disturbing comments about sexual assault and the devil,” police said.

The girls backed away and a bystander stepped in “before the suspect walked away,” police said.

No injuries were reported, according to police.
