A man fired a shotgun in the air and said he had bombs strapped to fuel tanks at the Lakebay Marina Tuesday, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said.
The man was on a 30-feet cabin cruiser-like boat secured to the dock as of about 3:30 p.m., sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.
The suspect, who investigators think is 56, also allegedly said he put bombs on the fuel and propane tanks of his vessel.
Troyer said the man threatened to blow up the explosives, and that he called a media outlet, but is not communicating with law enforcement.
