A motorcycle rider took Thurston County sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase over the weekend.

A motorcycle rider was jailed after embarking on a high-speed chase — think: 120 mph — with Thurston County law enforcement, authorities announced Saturday.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office posted bodycam footage of the incident to Facebook just after 11 a.m. Saturday. The post’s caption stated that officers tried early Friday morning to stop the speeder, who’d been going 80 mph in a 50-mph zone.

Instead of complying with the traffic stop, the motorcyclist sped off.

After driving through east Lacey, the suspect zoomed northward at 120 mph on Meridian Road, according to the Facebook post by the sheriff’s office.

The motorcyclist almost crashed in a ditch at one point. The suspect ultimately surrendered.

The rider wound up behind bars in the TCSO jail on suspicion of “attempting to elude,” and officials impounded the bike, according to the sheriff’s office.
