In-N-Out announces plan to open its first location in Washington state. Here’s when

By now you’ve probably heard about In-N-Out’s plans to open its first location in Washington, but up until a few days ago, the timeline for the opening was unknown.

In-N-Out said in Instagram post Tuesday that it is “working on a plan to come to Southern Washington by 2025!”

The California burger chain previously confirmed that it had filed a plan to open a location at the Union Ridge Town Center in the City of Ridgefield.

The proposed In-N-Out location would be part of a large development that includes the construction of the city’s first Costco, which is part of the city’s 20-year growth plan.

In a Facebook post from February, the City of Ridgefield confirmed that the city received an application from In-N-Out for a location at the town center on Pioneer Street, just west of Interstate 5, around Exit 14.

After the post received comments from concerned residents regarding the traffic that could result due to long drive-thru line, the city explained its plan to help prevent traffic congestion as well as the plan for the restaurant’s building design.

“Our permitting and engineering team has worked closely with In-N-Out to ensure they are not only creating enough queuing spaces to avoid backups onto roads, but also that the design of the building will be unique, high-quality and complementary to Ridgefield,” according to the Facebook post.

The Ridgefield location would be In-N-Out’s fifth restaurant in the Pacific Northwest and the 418th location in the country.

Mike Abbate, vice president of store development at In-N-Out, previously told The News Tribune in an email through a spokesperson that there aren’t plans to open more locations in Washington at this time.

“We are hopeful about the possibility of opening a location in Ridgefield, Washington,” Abbate said. “While our development team is always reviewing opportunities for new restaurants in the areas where we do business, we aren’t planning for extensive growth in Washington at this time.”
