Elegant waterfront estate is being sold for $75M by famed Washington sports family
A downright breathtaking estate with a strong sports connection has landed on the real estate market in Friday Harbor, Washington, for $75 million.
While the hefty price tag might be a tad off putting, the home itself is alluring in more ways than one.
“Welcome to Halftide Farms, a once-in-a-lifetime waterfront estate on San Juan Island boasting 90-plus acres, 650-plus feet of low-bank beachfront, two registered buoys and sweeping views of the Salish Sea and Mt. Baker,” the listing on Compass describes. “Never before offered to the public, properties of this magnitude, privacy and sophistication are rarely available in the PNW.”
According to multiple news outlets including the Wall Street Journal and the Seattle Times, Hafetide was owned by Barry and Ginger Ackerley, a couple that owned the NBA team the Seattle SuperSonics (who now play as the Oklahoma City Thunder) and founded the WNBA team the Seattle Storm. The estate passed on to their adult children after their deaths, who have now listed the property, the Journal reported.
The 11-bedroom, 9.75-bathroom, 13,109-square-foot residence has an abundance of features including:
Guest cottages
Bunk house
Game house
Tennis courts
Pickleball courts
Two pools
Cabana
Putting green
“You would compare this to something in the Hamptons or other large family compounds nationally,” listing agent Tere Foster told the Seattle Times.
Foster and Moya Skillman hold the listing.
Friday Harbor is about 65 miles northeast of Bellingham.
