Person climbing through wall is trapped when stone collapses, Washington officials say
A person tried to climb through an opening in a wall near a Walmart in Thurston County over the weekend and became trapped, Washington officials said.
The Southeast Thurston Fire Authority said the person’s leg became trapped Saturday, Nov. 13, inside a wall that surrounds the big-box store’s parking lot in Yelm, Fox 13 reported.
The person was trying to climb through an opening in the wall made of stone panels, fire officials said. The stones came crashing down on one of the person’s legs.
“Crews were presented with a wall constructed of precast interlocking panels that had dropped down on the subject’s leg,” officials said.
Officials used high-lift jacks to lift the heavy stone panels off of the subject.
