Shopper finds a stranger inside car at a thrift shop parking lot, Washington cops say
A shopper returned to her vehicle in a thrift store parking lot last week and found a stranger inside, Washington authorities said.
Then she noticed her glove box had been opened and looked through, the King County Sheriff’s Office said on Friday.
The driver confronted the woman wearing a black rain jacket after the Oct. 4 incident and she walked away, deputies said.
A witness standing in the donation line noticed the woman checking car doors in the parking lot before she entered the shopper’s car, deputies said.
Another witness directed authorities toward the woman.
Deputies arrested her and found she had a warrant for criminal trespass in Des Moines, officials said.
Des Moines is 30 miles south of Shoreline.
She was booked into the South Correctional Entity Jail on the warrant and also faces a charge of vehicle prowling in the second degree, deputies said.
This incident wasn’t the first time a shopper found a stranger in their car in Shoreline.
Another shopper caught a man sleeping in her Jeep nearly two weeks ago.
The driver found her Jeep’s window smashed and a hammer and screwdriver nearby, deputies said.
The man stumbled away and was later arrested on vehicle prowling in the second degree, deputies said.
Shoreline is more than 11 miles north of Seattle.
