Menorahs sold by 3 national chains recalled. They might burn along with the candles

The only flame during the eight nights of Hanukkah should be from the candles, not the menorah itself. That’s why TJX recalled about 7,900 Festive Lights Hanukkah Menorahs.

The exact problem, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice: “The resin and medium-density fiberboard (“MDF”) menorahs can burn or catch fire when holding lit candles, posing a fire hazard.”

TJX, a Framingham, Massachusetts, company, “has received three reports in the U.S. of the menorahs burning or catching on fire when holding lit candles.”

This covers eight designs — emojis, T-Rex, llama, rainbow, brontosaurus, stegosaurus, castle, rainbow platform — and model Nos. 262933, 263407, 263417, 262950, 856166, 856168, 856179, 856182, 856189, 856192, 856262 and 856266. They were sold at Marshalls, HomeGoods or Homesense stores from November 2021 through January.
