Ballots are due by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8. That’s the symbolic poll-closing time for Washington state, which votes by mail.
As of Friday, Nov. 3, only about one-third of Whatcom County’s registered voters had returned their ballots.
Since ballots must be postmarked — not simply mailed — by 8 p.m. Tuesday, from now till the polls close, Herald political reporter Robert Mittendorf suggested using one of the ballot drop boxes at various locations around Whatcom County.
