Mexican governor Ruben Rocha steps down, NYT reports
May 2 (Reuters) - Ruben Rocha, governor of Mexico's Sinaloa state, said Friday night that he would temporarily step down from his post, the New York Times reported on Saturday.
The U.S. Justice Department said on Wednesday it had charged Rocha and other officials for their alleged involvement with the Sinaloa Cartel, a significant escalation of U.S. anti-cartel action that is likely to increase tensions between the United States and Mexico.
