Three boys — ages 8, 9 and 10 — get trapped in drainage system, Texas rescuers say
A group of Houston-area kids trapped in a drainage system emerged unscathed, according to Texas rescuers.
Rescuers didn’t specify how the trio found their way into the drainage system on the evening of Monday, Jan. 13.
The three boys, ages 8, 9 and 10 prompted multiple 911 calls from onlookers before they were rescued by Harris County constable deputies and the Klein Fire Department, according to a Facebook post from Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman.
Photos in the post show rescuers lifting a metal grate and going into the drainage system.
Once the boys were safely out, EMS workers medically cleared the children before they were returned to their guardians, Herman said.
The drainage system empties out into waterways in the surrounding area, according to Harris County.
The Precinct 4 Constable’s Office did not immediately respond to McClatchy News’ request for additional information on the rescue.
