A blind pup is looking for “unconditional love” in Texas, an animal shelter said.

Kit, a 12-week-old Shih Tzu, was injured as a young puppy and went completely blind, according to a Jan. 1 Facebook post by the South Plains SPCA.

Kit weighs 11 pounds and needs a family who’s patient and understanding, officials said.

Kit loves to play with toys but isn’t crate trained because he “hates it,” the shelter said.

Although the shelter wouldn’t classify him as a “snuggle bug,” it prefers that Kit’s adoptive family is home most of the time, the post said.

It’ll take him some time to adjust to his new environment, but he loves to “roam and play” and will fall asleep anywhere when he tires himself out, the Facebook post said.

The “rolly polly” loves to eat and enjoys Science Diet puppy mini bites, the post said.

Kit is eligible for the Foster to Adopt Program through the rescue.

To qualify, an adopter must live in Lubbock County, and if approved there is a $100 non-refundable deposit to take him home.

He’ll be brought back to the rescue for all scheduled vaccinations, officials said. Kit is not fully vaccinated yet, so he cannot be taken to parks or on walks, the shelter said.

The shelter asks anyone with questions to contact Adoptions.spspca@gmail.com, the post said.

Lubbock County is about a 320-mile drive northwest of Dallas.
