A 76-year-old woman was found in a forested area in Oregon days after she vanished, deputies said.

Cheryl Leigh Guajardo of Bend was last seen driving Dec. 3 in the Lowell area, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

A Silver Alert was issued to help find her quickly, but search teams ran into issues due to “poor cell service in the remote area she went missing,” deputies said.

Because of this, rescuers couldn’t track Guajardo’s phone or vehicle.

Dozens of people searched hundreds of miles looking for her. Additionally, drones and aircrafts were used to find her.

Guajardo’s vehicle was discovered Dec. 7 on an overgrown road, north of Lookout Point Lake, deputies said. The area is forested and remote.

She was then found “alive and responsive.” Deputies said she was taken to a hospital.

“Great news! I volunteer with Crook County SAR and a good outcome after four days is rare, especially with elderly,” Shelby H. Griggs commented on Facebook.

Lowell is just northwest of Lookout Point Lake. It’s also a 20-mile drive southeast from Eugene.
