Brothers ages 18 and 16 follow driver after minor crash and kill him, Florida cops say
A “minor car accident” turned fatal when a man was followed home and shot by the other driver and his brother, according to investigators in the Florida Panhandle.
The suspects, ages 16 and 18, are in custody, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies say the victim was shot “multiple” times Wednesday, Oct. 2, outside a home on Fairfield Drive, near Pensacola.
“The investigation revealed that Andres Eugene Harlee (16) and Anthony Eugene Harlee Jr (18), followed the victim to his home after they had been in a minor car accident with the victim. They parked a white Jeep SUV in front of the victim’s driveway and exited the vehicle,” the sheriff’s office reported
“A disagreement then led to the brothers shooting multiple rounds at the victim,” according to deputies. “They fled the area in the white Jeep SUV.”
The victim died after being taken to a hospital, officials said. His identity has not been released.
Deputies tracked down the brothers Oct. 9 at their home in adjacent Santa Rosa County, officials said. Details of how the brothers were linked to the shooting were not released.
Evidence found at their home indicated the suspects burned the clothes worn during the shooting “and attempted to burn gun magazines,” officials said.
Andres Harlee and Anthony Harlee Jr. are charged with homicide and tampering with evidence, officials said.
