Powerball player just misses $44 million jackpot but still wins big in Georgia
A Powerball player was a number shy of the $44 million grand prize, but still walked away a big winner.
Someone in Richmond Hill matched four numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000 in the drawing Monday, Aug. 26, marking the second big win in the Peach State in less than a week, according to the Georgia Lottery.
The winning ticket was purchased at Parker’s Kitchen on Ford Avenue, officials said.
The latest win comes after someone in Atlanta won $150,000 in the Aug. 24 Powerball drawing. That ticket was purchased on the Georgia Lottery mobile app, officials said.
The winning numbers on Monday were 2, 4, 23, 68, 69 and red Powerball 15, according to the lottery game’s website. The Power Play multiplier option was 3X.
There were no $1 million winners and no one hit the jackpot, results show.
The next Powerball drawing is Aug. 28 with an estimated $54 million jackpot.
Richmond Hill is about a 20-mile drive southwest from Savannah.
