A woman got caught in a smelly situation when she became stuck in an outhouse toilet, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers in Ostego County said first responders were called to a boat launch area at Dixon Lake on Tuesday, Sept. 19, when a woman was heard yelling for help.

Photos shared by Michigan State Police show a trooper looking deep into the toilet, where a woman was seemingly trapped. She told first responders she dropped her Apple Watch in the toilet and got stuck after lowering herself inside to retrieve it, state police said.

State police said the toilet was removed, and troopers used a strap to hoist the woman from the outhouse.

They also offered advice for others.

“If you lose an item in an outhouse toilet, do not attempt to venture inside the containment area. Serious injuries may occur,” state police said.

Ostego County is in northern Michigan, about 240 miles northwest of Detroit.
