22-year-old Netflix worker vanishes after just starting job in California, family says
A recent college graduate went missing in California only two weeks after starting a job at Netflix as a software engineer, the family told news outlets.
Yohanes Kidane graduated from Cornell University and moved from New York to San Francisco to work at Netflix, his family told CBS News.
Kidane was last seen at 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 14 getting into an Uber in San Jose, the station reported.
The family told KTVU that Kidane ran into coworkers and he told them “he was heading to San Francisco to maybe meet a friend.”
The software engineer was last seen wearing gray sweatpants along with a black hoodie and black shoes, KTVU reported.
Kidane’s family told NBC Bay Area that their son’s last phone location was at Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. There officials found his phone, wallet and backpack.
“We want to take him home. I need my son,” Kidane’s mother told KTVU.
McClatchy News reached out to the San Jose Police Department on Aug. 18 and is awaiting a response.
Anyone with information is asked to call 408-277-8900, NBC Bay Area reported.
San Jose is about 50 miles southeast of San Francisco.
