Street-racing crash kills 18-year-old twins and innocent driver, Oregon police say
Twin sisters died while street racing after crashing into another driver making a turn, Oregon officials said.
On July 20, Hannah and Grace Fetters, 18, were racing their BMW sedan against a 17-year-old who was driving a Subaru, according to a July 22 news release by Portland Police.
The twins were driving over the speed limit when their car struck a Lexus, driven by Judie Skeen, 55, as she was making a turn, officials said.
The crash “sent the BMW into the raised median and the vehicle knocked over multiple trees,” the release said.
Skeen, described as “loving and caring,” was driving with her husband, Justin, as they completed their last Door Dash order at the time of the crash, according to a GoFundMe page.
The other teen driver was not directly involved in the crash and remained at the scene, officials said.
The twin sisters died at the scene and the 55-year-old driver later died at the hospital, the release said. Skeen’s husband had serious but not life-threatening injuries.
