A 10-year-old was nearly snatched by masked men on his way to a Virginia bus stop, police say.

Officers responded around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, to a report of a kidnapping attempt in Woodbridge, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

The boy told officers he was walking to a bus stop when he was approached by a masked man in a dark-colored car, police said in a news release. That’s when he said the man grabbed him, but he was able to wriggle from his grip.

The man got back in the car and fled with another masked man who was driving, the boy told authorities.

The suspects were last seen wearing ski masks and dark clothing, police said. One of the men also had the number “2” tattooed on his neck.

Police said they’re investigating the incident.
