A woman ran over her ex-husband several times during a custody dispute, killing him in the parking lot of an Oregon park, authorities said.

Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run at Woodmansee Park in Salem on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 20, the Salem Police Department said in an alert. Witnesses pointed officers to the dead man’s location and Branda Myshelle Myers, 29.

Myers and her ex-husband, Vince Edward Douts, 38, were at the park that morning to resolve a custody dispute, police said. When the argument escalated, Myers used her car to run her ex over “several times.”

The park was closed for about seven hours as police investigated the incident, The Statesman Journal reported.

Myers was arrested and is facing murder charges, police said. She is expected to appear in court in the afternoon on Monday, Aug. 22.
