This castle for sale in Canada is everyone’s particular ‘kind of weird.’ Come see why
A beautiful white castle that looks like something out of a storybook has landed on the real estate market in Christina Lake, British Columbia for $1.9 million.
The unique property, built in 1976, has three bedrooms and five bathrooms and sits on a secluded 21 acres, the listing on Realtor.ca says. It’s described as “the castle in the forest.”
“The entire exterior of the home is constructed of multiple layers of steel mesh reinforced concrete plaster,” the listing says.
“This European building tradition is meant to last centuries and designed to resist fire, rot and insects. The concrete construction also has the added benefit of being naturally cool in the summer and retains heat in the winter.”
Other features include:
Colored concrete floors
Wood-fired sauna
Vaulted ceilings
3.5-story tower
Arched doors and windows
1,450-square-foot shop
Greenhouse
Gardens
Orchards
Three-bedroom guest home
And more.
It’s original design, along with the interior, caught the attention of real estate social media fan page Zillow Gone Wild as fans commented on the love for the Disney-like home.
“I have nothing to make fun of with this one,” one person commented. “It’s amazing. This is my kind of weird. I not only want this house, but I kind of want to be friends with the owners. This place is just awesome.”
“I don’t think this is an actual full size house,” another joked. “I think it’s a middle school art project.”
“Ok this is the type of weird I could totally get behind,” someone said.
“This is my vibe!” one person exclaimed. “Love everything about it! Weird in all the right places!”
“I’d buy it just so I could run around all day yelling, ‘I’m king of the castle.’” another wrote.
“The inside reminds me of the burrow from ‘Harry Potter,’” one person said. “Take my money!!”
And finally...
“Fabulous. Completely impractical and wildly stylized. Yes.”
Christina Lake is about 337 miles east of Vancouver.
