‘Putt-putt castle’ is listed for $1.6M in Vegas and Zillow Gone Wild is beside itself
A “one of a kind” castle has hit the real estate market in Las Vegas, Nevada, for $1.6 million and the home is raising more than a few eyebrows from fans of a popular social media page.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom house sits on an acre in a gated community and has plenty of high-end features to boast, including a sunroom, custom doors, stained glass windows, a gourmet kitchen and a private sauna in the primary suite, but what is really drawing attention is its exterior.
Sure, the outdoor area is pleasant, with its built-in grilling station near the swimming pool, which is good to have on those long summer nights. But what’s puzzling fans on Zillow Gone Wild is what’s considered the “castle” part of the 8,613-square-foot property.
“Love the inside, but the ‘castle’ looks like if you asked a 3 year old to draw you a picture of a castle,” one person said.
“Owner: Have you ever seen a real life castle?
Builder: Umm...no. But I have seen castles in kids’ cartoons!
O: Perfect! Do that! But kinda modernize the inside. And include a weird pool house/gym space!” another person joked.”
“I was expecting a bit more extravagant castle from Las Vegas,” another person observed. “It’s a bit underwhelming to be honest.”
“From the outside it looks like a faux castle temporarily set up for a Renaissance fair,” one person said. “And I can’t even begin to unpack that mess of an inside.”
“I would not feel comfortable living there,” another remarked. “It’s too much. But I’ll take the pool and the outside bar!”
“It’s like it was furnished by someone who has never seen a picture of a real castle,” another said. “It’s like a putt putt castle or one of those spooky walk thru at the county fair.”
“This house kinda makes me thankful I’m poor,” one person joked.
“The house that asks, ‘what if your bed bath and beyond curtains were a whole room?’” another commented.
“This is the most uncastle castle I’ve ever seen,” one person said. “Just awkward.”
And, of course, who can resist making a Medieval joke?
“I am sitting in the Red Knights section. So I’ll be rooting for him!”
