Amy’s Kitchen frozen meals, Rising Moon ravioli recalled over listeria concerns

Many varieties of Amy’s Kitchen frozen meals and Rising Moon organic frozen ravioli are being recalled because the spinach in them may contain listeria.

Both companies are conducting a voluntary recall of their affected products. They were produced with organic spinach that the supplier’s tests later found showed the presence of listeria.

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy people may suffer short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. A listeria infection also can cause a miscarriage or stillbirth.

Amy’s recall includes lasagnas, wraps and other items. For a full list of products and lot numbers, see this recall notice.

Rising Moon’s recall involves three types of its ravioli.

Consumers who have the products can return them to the store where purchased for a full refund.
