Washington Democrats, Pelosi make friendly wager on NFC championship game

Democrats in Washington's Congressional delegation have made a friendly wager with Senate majority leader Nancy Pelosi over Sunday's NFC championship game between the the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.

And it seems the Washington delegation will get the short end of the stick if the Seahawks win ... sorry, WHEN the Seahawks win.

If the Seahawks win, Pelosi will provide the Washington delegation with San Francisco sourdough bread from Boudin's Bakery and chocolate from Ghirardelli and TCHO.

If the 49ers win, Pelosi will receive:

-- Theo's chocolate from Rep. Jim McDermott,

-- Brown & Haley Almond Roca toffees from Rep. Adam Smith,

-- Fischer fair scones from Rep. Denny Heck,

-- apples from Amy's Decadent Chocolates courtesy of Rep. Derek Kilmer.

-- craft gin from Everett's Bluewater Distilling courtesy of Rep. Rick Larsen,

-- and Woodinville wine and smoked salmon from Sen. Suzan DelBene.

Both sides already have exchanged some polite trash talk - via press release, of course.

"Seattle may try to keep our fans out of their stadium, but they will not keep the 49ers out of their end zone," Pelosi said in a release. "Apparently, the Seahawks want more of their fans to witness their defeat in person. I'll be looking forward to savoring the bounty of my friends' districts as the 49ers seal their return to the Super Bowl.”

Countered the Washington delegation: "Considering that the 49ers have been winless in their last two visits to Seattle, we're very appreciative of the willingness of Leader Pelosi to contribute some Bay Area treats to us."

Not exactly the same as kissing your biceps. What's their deal?
