No students aboard crashed Blaine school bus
No students were aboard a Blaine School District bus when it was involved in a head-on crash with a car Friday morning, June 5.
The driver of an older Toyota Camry suffered minor injuries to his face when his car crashed into Bus No. 4 at 6:53 a.m. at Blaine and Drayton Harbor roads, said Whatcom County Undersheriff Jeff Parks.
The front of the Camry wedged under the front driver’s side corner of the full-length yellow bus. The car’s driver, a middle-aged man, declined to be taken to the hospital. The bus driver wasn’t hurt either.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate. However the cause of the crash hasn’t been released.
Often state troopers will be called in to do a commercial vehicle inspection before the bus is allowed back on the road, Parks said.
