WWU student dies in motorcycle crash in King County

A student at Western Washington University died in a motorcycle crash earlier this week in King County, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Trevor J. D’Mello, of Renton, lost control of his motorcycle as he rode west on Interstate 90 near the overpass of 142nd Place SE in Factoria, according to troopers.

He fell from the ’06 Yamaha FZ6. He was hit by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado.

D’Mello died at the scene around 12:30 a.m. Monday. He was 19.

D’Mello, a graduate of Skyline High School, had just finished his second year at Western, according to the student newspaper The Western Front.

No charges are pending against the Chevy driver, a 22-year-old man from Bellevue.
