Police released a sketch Thursday morning, June 9, of one of two men who sexually assaulted a woman this week in Maritime Heritage Park.
The woman reported she’d been walking down Holly Street when she met a man Tuesday morning. They talked and shared cigarettes, said Sgt. Mike Scanlon.
They walked into the park on the boardwalk. At some point around 6 or 7 a.m., she reported, he shoved her to the ground. She was sexually assaulted by him and another man who was nearby, in the daylight.
She described one attacker as white, in his 30s, about 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10, with sun- or wind-burned cheeks, and short, spiky blond hair. That’s the one in the sketch.

The second man — whose “appearance and current lifestyle make him look like he’s in his 60s” — was described as white and skinny, according to police.
Police continued to search for the men Thursday. Tips can be directed to Detective Sue Howell at 360-778-8682.
Mayor Kelli Linville, released a statement about the attack: “My heart goes out to the victim. I am immensely saddened that this happened in our community. Providing public safety is a core responsibility of the City. I am assembling my leadership team to continue to address public safety in our downtown park.”
