Ferndale man hurt in I-5 motorcycle crash near Bow Hill
A Ferndale man was seriously injured Thursday afternoon, March 31, when his motorcycle went off Interstate 5 in Skagit County and struck a ditch in the median, according to Washington State Patrol.
Todd Allen Benson, 47, was thrown from the 1991 Honda CBR during the crash at 1:40 p.m. about a mile south of Bow Hill Road. He had been riding southbound “at a high rate” of speed just before the crash, according to WSP.
Benson was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He had been wearing a helmet, according to WSP.
The cause is under investigation.
