Ferndale woman’s remains found near Gold Bar
GOLD BAR — Skeletal remains found by a logger on Nov. 25 in east Snohomish County are those of a missing Ferndale woman.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday identified the remains as those of Sandy L. Rideout. The cause of her death remains under investigation.
Rideout, then 41, was last seen April 24, 2006, in Bellingham, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.
A logger discovered the remains last month on private timber land east of Gold Bar, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
No other details were immediately available. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate.
