B.C. woman’s condition improves after motorcycle crash near Nooksack

A British Columbia woman’s condition had improved from critical to serious Monday, Oct. 5, after she crashed her motorcycle this weekend on Highway 9 near Nooksack.

Janet L. Isbister, 50, of Chilliwack, lost control of her 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle around 6 p.m. Saturday while northbound in a curve on Highway 9 near Lindsay Road, just north of Nooksack city limits, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Her Harley crashed into a pole, and Isbister was thrown from the bike. An ambulance rushed her to St. Joseph hospital.

She was listed in critical condition this weekend. By Monday her condition had improved to serious, said hospital spokeswoman Amy Cloud.

Troopers believe Isbister had been driving too fast, according to a press release. They’re also investigating whether she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
