Bellingham police investigating fatal late-night shooting, seeking public’s help

Bellingham police are asking for help from the community in locating a suspect involved in a fatal shooting Saturday night.

Officers responded to a report of shots being fired around 11:50 p.m. Oct. 18 near West Horton Road and Meridian Street, according to Lt. Claudia Murphy with the Bellingham Police Department.

Within minutes of the call, a vehicle arrived at the emergency department at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham with two injured passengers who had received gunshot wounds. One of these passengers, identified by Whatcom County Medical Examiner Aldo Fusaro as Daytin R. Duronso-Harp, 26, of Bellingham died from his injuries. The other, a 25-year-old man, is expected to survive, Murphy said.
