Whatcom County man charged with raping child over seven-year period

Authorities arrested a man for multiple charges related to child rape following a four-month investigation.

Raymond Wolf Casebeer, 49, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. June 21 in rural Whatcom County, according to Deb Slater with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.

A person reported to authorities Feb. 21 that Casebeer had raped and molested them multiple times from 2008 to 2015, when they were between 8 and 15 years old, Slater said.

Casebeer was arrested without incident. He has been charged with rape of a child in the first, second and third degree — all felonies.

Casebeer was booked into Whatcom County Jail on June 21 but has since been bonded out of custody.
