A former contracted employee at the Whatcom County Jail and an inmate’s fiancee face a pair of felony charges following their arrest late last month related to a suspected smuggling operation at the jail.

Dylan Thomas Ramion, 26, was a former employee of a contracted vendor who worked at the jail, where he spent time working with inmates in the kitchen. He worked at the jail for about a month and quit before being arrested, Deb Slater with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office previously told The Herald.

Ramion was arrested April 30 after an investigation into how inmates were able to obtain methamphetamine, vapes and nicotine patches while in custody.

While working at the jail, Ramion would meet with an inmate’s wife in the jail parking lot. She would give him the items and he would take them inside the jail facility.

The inmate’s fiancee, Summer Maree Treadway, 40, was arrested April 29.

Treadway and Ramion have been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to deliver, a class B felony. They also were charged with third-degree introducing contraband, a misdemeanor.

They have since been bailed out of custody and are awaiting arraignment.
