Bellingham aquatic center closes for the day following break-in, theft
A break-in at the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center on Tuesday night forced the pool to close all day Wednesday for repairs.
The aquatic center was expected to be open as usual starting at 6 a.m. Thursday, April 24, according to Melissa Morin, communications director with the city of Bellingham.
The burglar or burglars broke in through the glass front door, leaving broken glass scattered inside the building. Electronic equipment and cash was stolen from inside the building, Morin said.
Police were called in around 5:30 a.m., and are still investigating the break-in. No suspect has been identified at this time, according to Morin.
