Bellingham police arrested a man who allegedly entered a residence illegally and attacked the person living there.

Truth Justin Campbell, 30, who is known to the resident, knocked on the door of the home in the 400 block of Westerly Road the afternoon of March 31. When the male resident answered and indicated Campbell was not welcome inside, he allegedly forced his way in anyway, according to Lt. Claudia Murphy with the Bellingham Police Department.

Once inside, Campbell allegedly punched the man about seven times, then fled the scene before police could arrive.

Police located Campbell around 12:25 p.m. Sunday, April 6 in the 1300 block of F Street and took him into custody without incident.

He was charged with first-degree burglary, and remains in custody at Whatcom County Jail.
