The Bellingham Herald

A woman who was arrested for DUI is suspected of crashing into three separate vehicles before being stopped by police.

A Bellingham Police officer moved to stop woman’s vehicle around 6:22 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22 after watching the vehicle going the wrong way from Cornwall Avenue to East Champion Street, according to Lt. Claudia Murphy with the Bellingham Police Department. The driver did not react to the police lights and didn’t come to a stop until pulling into a parking lot.

The officer contacted the woman, 45, driving the vehicle, and observed signs indicating she was under the influence, according to Murphy.

Around the same time, multiple 911 calls reported a hit and run involving multiple vehicles in a parking lot in the 300 block of West Champion Street.

Officers went to investigate the scene where the hit and run occurred and took the statements of multiple eye witnesses. All the vehicles were parked and unoccupied.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of hit and run of unattended vehicles, a misdemeanor, and driving under the influence, a gross misdemeanor.
