Two Whatcom County men charged in string of child exploitation arrests over the weekend

Two Whatcom county men have been charged as part of a multi-agency child exploitation operation in Skagit County, according to Rich Weyrich with the Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Cody Mitchell, 37, of Ferndale has been charged with first-degree attempted rape of child, second-degree attempted rape of a child, commercial sexual abuse of a minor (prostitution) and communication with a minor for immoral purposes via electronic communication, with bail set at $300,000.

Ronald Romero Ramos, 25, of Bellingham, has been charged with second-degree attempted rape of child and communication with a minor for immoral purposes via electronic communication . His bail is set at $200,000.

The two men are among 14 people arrested in Skagit County last weekend in a multi-day operation that involved multiple state and federal law enforcement agencies.
